HAWASA History--This local authority has been serving the Halifax community for many years now. Our organization is one of Halifax's finest. In 2007 the former Halifax Municipal Authority, and Halifax Area Water Authority, merged to create what is now known as the Halifax Area Water and Sewer Authority. Our responsibility is to manage the water and sewer needs in both Halifax Borough and Halifax Township. Our monthly meetings are the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Halifax Borough Building meeting room, 203 Armstrong St. (entrance at rear of Post Office). You should all know that we are all privileged to have fresh mountain spring fed water in our homes through the efforts of this local authority.
